About Texas Holdem
Using the concepts of community card games, Texas Holdem is a variant of the betting game poker. In traditional Texas Holdem, two cards are dealt face down to each player, then five community cards are placed face up by the dealer over a series of three rounds. The dealer first lays down three cards, face up, in the middle of the table. This is called the flop, and the players then take turns placing bets. After the first betting round, the dealer adds an additional single card, which is called the turn. After another round of betting, the dealer lays out the final card, which is called the river. After every round, the players have the option to check, bet, raise, or fold depending on their cards and the amount being wagered.
